Golf is Hard TV - Episode 22 - World Golf Tour
>> March 31, 2009
Yes, I skipped an episode number in order to get that Charles Barkley name that swing episode out first... I didn't have time to re-render the titles so I just let it fly... in any case - back to our Golf Social Networking tour!
World Golf Tour (www.worldgolftour.com) is pretty incredible. It's the 3rd on my list of golf social networks and is Golf is Hard Episode 22! A tad light on more traditional "social networking features, WGT more than makes up for things with the most realistic virtual golf game in the world.
P.S. - You will notice that the video of me stutters a bit - WGT is a fairly intense application and can really slow your machine down - especially if you are playing while trying to record your screen!

Marc, nice job on the tour of WGT. We need to work on your golf lingo. A shank only goes to the right (unless you are a lefty), and pretty drastically because the ball hit the hosel, not the clubface. Anything to the left is either a pull or a hook (or both), anyhting to the right is either a fade or slice (or the dreaded shank). So, a righty can't shank it to the left. Shank is also a good work to completely emilinate from your vocab as a golfer, otherwise we could do an entire episode on it. Questions, what is a yip? anyone?
I love the term shank and am taking it back! Using it incorrectly is I think... a verbal shank.
A yip is when my nerves kick in and I miss an easy 3 footer that would have won me five skins. By the way that World Golf Tour doesn't seem to work for me.
Probably the biggest issue with WGT is getting it to run.. you need a lot of hardware!
Scott, you are exactly right, hate passing up those easy skins. It's also another word we should eliminate from our golf vocab. Thanks for your thoughts.
Marc, sorry, I meant to say the World Golf Tour link doesn't work.
oops! Fixed... thanks!
